On October 15th Phish frontman Trey Anastasio kicked off his Solo Acoustic 2019 Tour in Geneva, New York at the Smith Opera House with a 27 song setlist made up of mostly Phish songs!
The setlist also featured acoustic renditions of two songs off his latest solo project Ghosts of the Forest, along with on Trey Anastasio Band song - "Snowflakes in the Sand."
Last night, October 16th, he performed at Victoria Theatre in Dayton, Ohio with a completely different setlist, carrying the jam band setlist tradition into his acoustic stylings.
On kickoff night he opened the set with "Back on the Train," while in Dayton he opened up with "Free." Dayton also got a special treat when Anastasio got to the encore, as he did the solo live debut cover of Oysterhead's "Mr. Oysterhead." Both nights have seen four-song encores in the 27-song sets, so it's safe to assume he will keep it this way for the rest of the tour!
Being that the tour sees Anastasio performing intimate, stripped back versions of Phish cuts, he gets even more personal by interacting with the crowd and sharing stories from his 36-year career. This tour is any Phans dream!
