Info

The "Ricky-Tick" was not actually a venue, but a series of "club nights" that were resident in a number of locations around Windsor in the 1960s. The first Ricky-Tick was an upstairs room at The Star & Garter, Windsor. Others were held at the Thames Hotel, WIndsor and also in Guildford, Hounslow, High Wycombe, Maidenhead and Reading. One of the most famous locations was at Clewer Mead, a semi-derelict riverside mansion in WIndsor. In April 1964 (shows didn’t start until May 1964), John and Philip rented Clewer Mead, a run-down Thames-side mansion with 58 rooms. Its last session took place at Clewer Mead on Sep 17, 1966, featuring Georgie Fame and the Blue Flames.
