As I said on that playlist, the fact that setlist.fm can't recognize that the difference between "Elvis Costello and the Attractions" and "Elvis Costello and the Imposters" is one band member and has to not only consider them distinct, but also requires that taxonomic difference be displayed in every playlist, is a product design failure, exposed here for all to see.

It doesn't 'feel' wrong, it is wrong. Suggesting that the original artist is covering his own work because the backing band differs (in this case by one individual) is nonsensical.

The @covers in this playlist are "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood", "The Tears of a Clown", "Out of Time", "(What's So Funny 'bout) Peace, Love and Understanding", and "Substitute", regardless of the workarounds setlist.fm expects its users to accept (and have to read) to support functional gaps in their back end.

Hi there, regarding Elvis Costello. I reverted your edits with the following text:

PhilippeLandry is right, please leave the cover tags, even if they feel wrong for you. Each song should lead to the correct original artist and so on the song's statistics page every song is counted just once.

Thank you

no but i'd be interested in that recording too!

Hi there, I'm collecting live audio recording by The Police and am looking for their Burgettstown 2008 recording. Did you or friends of yours record this show ? If you did or can help me, please email me at : maisquefaitlapolice@yahoo.fr
It would be much appreciated. Stuff to trade. Thanks a lot. Cheers. Dr
