Hi there!! Do you by chance have any live concert recordings in your archive of Ike & Tina Turner or Tina as a solo act in your personal archive?

Thank you for posting the Lantern reference for the Jean-Luc Ponty show in Mershon in the 70s. Another source said Larry Coryell, and I was positive it wasn't Larr. I do like Larry and I would have remembered. YES!!! I do remember Gene and Roger. Thank you for preserving my sanity.

Jackie - I see you entered the Neil Diamond show at John Carroll University. Did you go to JCU? Did you attend the concert. I am familiar with the Carroll News article you cited as a source, but cannot verify through someone that was there any details about the show or even that the show actually took place. Any info you can provide would be helpful.

Hey man. I see you attended Pink Floyd's concert in Cincinnati, 1971!
This is regarded as one of the greatest Floyd gigs of all time.
Here, you can listen to it in a high quality.

You might be able to hear yourself in the crowd!

Had you bought the band's newest LP, Meddle [released October 30th] before attending the concert? I'm very curious!
Rick's organ broke down and the band improvised for 17 minutes during the first track.
I consider this passage during the gig the peak of all recorded music.

During this passage, where rick's organ is being fixed,
First, the band breaks into a *embryonic* version of Raving and Drooling! The band would revisit this progression in 1973, during rehearsals for the British Winter Tour. In 1974, they unveiled it live. It was played at every gig between 1974-1975. They would go on to re-write and record the song in studio in April, 1976, For it to be released on new year's in 1977.

Crazy to think they played this 5 and half years before release. Moving on, we can hear the starting chords to "Breathe [In The Air]" The band improvises over this for a few minutes, and it is wonderful. The inclusion of this melody is not as surprising, because they played this tune in other improvisations before, and the earliest version of "Breathe" was recorded in studio, all the way back in Early 1970.

And finally, "Any Colour you Like" is played, before Rick's organ is fixed and they continue playing "Embryo."

This is not only a HISTORIC date, but in my opinion the best floyd gig of all time! I'd love to hear about your experience at the show!!

Buon Natale,

You can't delete Comments, only a Moderator can. Before I became a Mod I would just post another Comment explaining that the previous Comment was for the wrong year or something like that. If you want me to delete it I will.

Thanks for all the great info on the Yes show in Columbus in 1984. Great articles that I had now seen before. Very much appreciated!

Hi,
I'm not sure what help you need with this. You can let me know what you want either on my page or on the setlist itself as I am now following it.

Hi Jackie
I have entered a couple of other JT shows that were similar. I just treated the Carole King performance as a supporting act because she was not billed as part of the James Taylor show. I created a separate setlist for JT and just added her to the songs she appeared on with an @Info tag. That would be the best way to do it in my opinion. If you have any other questions Fel Freetown ask. That underground newspaper find could be extremely helpful. If you find any info that contradicts what we have (venues, dates etc) please let me know or if there is additional information that needs to be added.
Cheers,
Ben

Adding a festival isn't too hard IF you've done it before. However, it can be challenging the first time. It is probably something you should learn to do though. I've pasted the procedure below as given in the Guidelines but I already see it needs to be changed as it omits the first step. It should say first you click on the Edit venue & date arrow to the right of the Venue on the body of the setlist. The dropdown gives you the Edit tour & festival option and when it comes up you hit the Add to festival. The festival does NOT already exist so near the bottom of the page click the add new festival and the instructions guide you thru the rest of it.
If you have any problems or make a mistake we Moderators can edit/fix it so just let me know if something goes wrong.
Glad to help
Ben

This is from the Guidelines tutorial instructions: "Anyway, here's the procedure how to add or select a festival:

Click on Add to Festival and you'll get a list of festivals in the surrounding area of the venue you've entered in the first step.
If the festival you're looking for is in the list, select it, click on Continue and continue reading this list at point 4.
Click the Add a new festival link. You'll get two input fields. The first one is mandatory the second isn't. Read the hints there carefully, fill out the field(s) and hit Continue.
Depending on whether someone else already has already added a festival on the date you provided, you'll now see either the name of the festival or a new form. For the former continue reading at point 7 for the latter, read on.
Enter the name of the current occurrence of the festival. Have a look at the examples provided there, it's pretty easy.
Enter the first and last day of the festival, hit Submit and continue reading at point 8.
Select the festival in the list and hit the button starting with Found it!. If the festival date isn't in the list, click Add new dates. and resume reading at point 6.
Done!"

Thank you for the BGSU info on Stray Cats.

Thanks for posting all the links to the shows that I had comments on. I was unable to do so when I made them.
Cheers,
Ben
