No need to trade (though would be lovely :) ) but mainly want to know more about it, and the concert.

Tu me contacté par mail? Je pense qu'il manque une page

Forgot to add:

- The intro to Levitation 21 is just that, an intro improvised on the spot. Tigran is an improvisational jazz artist, so his concerts are indeed always different, and every time he plays Levitation 21, he starts with a short improvisation which transitions into the album version. You can find multiple live versions on YouTube

Hi there,

- The second song is an slow, improvisational arrangement of Old Maps, it's similar in chord structure, it leads into its counterpart New Maps and you can hear it announced for example here (01:28:12) : https://www.rts.ch/audio-podcast/2022/audio/cully-jazz-festival-2022-youn-sun-nah-tigran-hamasyan-trio-25832371.html . Song titles are provided to the radio station by the artist.

- Ara Resurrected and 37 Newlyweds are melodically linked as they use the same melodic theme (i.e. on the album, compare Ara 06:00-07:02 and Newlyweds 00:00-00:12, or Ara 07:21-07:34 and Newlyweds 00:46-00:58. So during live shows Tigran adds bits and pieces of Newlyweds to Ara Resurrected to varying degrees, i.e. at the 15/12 show he played a long solo version of Newlyweds before starting Ara Resurrected. But I agree that on the 16th, he didn't add that much, so I would leave it out.

- The final piece is not Erishta (from the Shadow Theater album) but Erishta Revisited, which didn't appear on an album yet but is part of a few songs Tigran rearranged into a rock version to play live during his Mockroot tour (2014-15)

Kind regards.

Hi, you could argue that during the first encore they played both Our Film and Revisiting the Film but since the latter is incorporated into the former as an extended improvisation during live performances and probably originally started out as just improvising on Our Film, it seems incorrect to add it as a separate song. As for the other missing song, you could argue that a part of 37 Newlyweds was played during Ara Resurrected but it's also just an improvisation on it. For the rest I don't think there are any on the list but please go ahead and correct whatever is necessary. Kind regards.

Hi, I made a mistake adding the songs and the text came out weird, I don't have a lot of experience with this site. Please feel free to add back the performers. And I did attend both 15/12 and 16/12 shows, so I added the songs played. Kind regards.

Hello Deru,

I saw Magma last weekend in London and Manchester where they performed Irina Baladina. I thought that the song Ballade which they played in Leuven could have been the same. But I'm not sure about it. And I have no proof of it.
The new album is scheduled for october.

Could you please change the generic venue Paleis voor Schone Kunsten / Palais des Beaux-Arts Brussels to the actual one in which the concert took place?
Paleis voor Schone Kunsten Henry Le Boeufzaal / Palais des Beaux-Arts Salle Henry Le Boeuf Brussels
Paleis voor Schone Kunsten De Zaal M / Palais des Beaux-Arts Brussels La Salle M Brussels
Cafetaria Paleis voor Schone Kunsten / Cafétaria Palais des Beaux Arts Brussels
Paleis voor Schone Kunsten Terarkenzaal / Palais des Beaux-Arts Les Salles Terarken Brussels
Thanks for helping out to make this site better.

Here's where you could buy the DAT soundboard recording:

Hello,

If you're referring to the 1996 King Crimson concert, yes, I have the officially released recording of this show.
And the changes I made were based on the tracklist of that release.

Hope this helps.

Oh sorry, I thought that what you wrote was interesting for everyone. I did it with the best intentions.

I don't think btw that it will lead to any kind of controversy, conflicting informations are no problem for these old concerts, as there is often no proven truth available.

Unfortunately I think I can't delete it myself, at least i don't know how. The mods can maybe do that.

That's very sad, as the VdGG fans are searching for these kind of shows, as they are quite rare.

Could you say at least how you recorded it? Taken from the soundboard or just an audience recording in the middle of the audience.

Hi Deru,

I just saw that you have at least 3 recordings of Van der Graaf Generator shows from the 70s, of some interesting concerts of which so far no recording exists. It is possible to get a copy of those?

Le lien a disparu mais est disponible à http://www.calyx-canterbury.fr/bands/chrono/henrycow.html . D'après ce site 18/9/1977 est Udine, Italy.

I know I didn't mention a source at the time, now I do, long before it was mandatory. And I urge people to put a source for every edit.
Sources became only mandatory about March 2020.
I didn't listen to the audio tape (lack of time), I only downloaded it. If you want I can sent it to you to compare with your recording.

notes:

One of the better sounding aud tapes from the European Leg of the 1980/81 Tour. A bit of hiss and the room sounds a bit boomy (as Don mentions a few times). Despite those issues this tape sounds nice! There are a few flaws, nothing major. During trks 13 & 14 there is a bit of "noise" in the right channel. Apes Ma cuts in and is missing a little bit of the top. Sugar 'N Spikes cuts in, but it sounds like all of the music is there. There was a tape flip after Untitled, but no music is missing! Enjoy.
A big thanks to all of my old snail mail trader friends and the person who recorded this!
