The Top 5 Setlists of 2019: From Metallica to The Rolling Stones

It's been a great year in tours and concerts! Your favorite bands have gifted you with live debuts, deep cuts, covers, and guest appearances to boot. We already talked about what the Top 10 Tours from the year have been, with Metallica landing as number one! But we took the extra step to find out which setlists were the top performing ones from the year.

Yes, this is essentially a setlist popularity contest. We crunched in some numbers, did the math, and found the Top Five setlists that YOU, as fans, were ogling over the most. So let's take a look, shall we?

Number 5: Metallica at Valdebebas - IFEMA, Madrid on May 3 (117,983 pageviews)

Ranking in 5th place is Metallica's second concert on their spring European Tour in Madrid, where they performed an 18-song setlist AND tour debuted "St.Anger"!

Number 4: Dead & Company at Wrigley Field in Chicago on June 15 (118,187 pageviews)

The number 4 spot belongs to Grateful Dead spinoff band Dead & Company! This list would NOT be complete without a Dead & Co setlist on there. This set comes from the middle of the Summer 2019 Tour and the second of two nights at Wrigley Field. Their set that evening featured 21 songs with the first set carrying the hits like "Sugar Magnolia," "High Time" and "Friend of the Devil." The second set has more deep cuts like "The Other One" and "Standing on the Moon."

Number 3: The Cure at Glastonbury Festival 2019 on June 30 (121,055 pageviews)

This is the only festival setlist that ranked in the top five! And it belongs to The Cure, who after a quiet stint, embarked on a Festival Tour this year. Fans really seemed to love their 24-song setlist at Glastonbury, which opened up with "Plainsong" and offered a career-spanning set that would make anyone starry-eye.

Number 2: Metallica at Estadio do Restelo in Lisbon on May 1 (132,526 pageviews)

Well, well, well, what we have here! ANOTHER Metallica setlist that happens to be from the same leg of the tour as their number 5 setlist, and within the same week! This setlist was actually from their European Tour kickoff in Lisbon. This setlist carried not one, but FOUR tour debuts, with two of them being deep cuts! The songs were as follows: "Disposable Heroes," "The God that Failed" (first performance since June 2012), "Frantic" (first performance since December 2011), and "Lords of Summer" (the final studio version with new taped intro!)

Number 1: The Rolling Stones at Soldier Field in Chicago on June 21 (148,298 pageviews)

And the winner is THE STONES! Their touring return to the USA was a huge deal to us, so it's natural that fans were OBSESSING over their kickoff setlist from June 21st in Chicago! They made their North American return on the No Filter Tour with a 20-song setlist and performed "Sad Sad Sad" for the first time since September 22nd, 2002 followed by an audience request of "You Got Me Rocking."
