Eagles Played 15-Song Set on Joe Walsh's Birthday in 1979

Today, November 20, we celebrate 74 years of Joe Walsh, best known as the guitarist of the Eagles. To honor the guitar god's legacy on his special day, today's Setlist History takes us back 41 years when the Eagles were on The Long Run Tour and had a stop in New Haven, Connecticut at the Haven Veterans Memorial Coliseum on Walsh's 33rd birthday.

The 15-song setlist highlighted four tracks off their sixth studio album, The Long Run, released that year - 1979. This would be the last album the Eagles would put out until 2007!

They opened up the show with their hit "Hotel California," getting the crowd fired up right away. Songs they included off of the sixth LP that night were lead singles "Heartache Tonight" and "I Can't Tell You Why."

Embedded content is no longer available.

They also worked in four solo songs by the birthday boy. Walsh took the lead on his own tracks like "In the City," "Turn to Stone," "Life's Been Good," and "Rocky Mountain Way," all throughout the set.

Other staple Eagles anthems also made appearances during the set including "One Of These Nights," "Life In The Fast Lane," and show finale "Take It Easy." Check out the full setlist below:
