Madonna Plays Final Madame X Show in Los Angeles after 10 Nights

When signing up for Madonna's Madame X, there's a few things you should prep for.

  1. No phones! As Madonna mentioned in the beginning of the show - "It's so nice to be able to see ALL your beautiful faces without your phones in front of them!" In addition to "We want you to be present and enjoy the journey with us."
  2. The show will mostly likely start around 10:45-11pm, for no reason other than this is a QUEEN we are in the presence of. Halfway through the show Madge says "we won't always be on time" as apart of her speech where she inspires us to be free. Madame X might be playing pop music, but she's a rock star.
  3. The AC is turned off so be prepared to sweat, this is so that Madonna's voice can be tuned to perfection - and truly the highlight of the night is her distinctive singing voice so I will sweat bullets for her any day.
  4. Get ready to know Madonna on a more intimate level, she gets super up close and personal with her fans! "If you don't want to get to know me more intimately then just leave right now" says the queen! The night is peppered with stories from her last few years spent in Lisbon and the journey it took her to get to where she is now. She's a performer, a comedian, and an icon.
  5. The night carries a very obvious political agenda, which is that everyone deserves to be free! So be ready for Madonna to fight for your right to be who you want to be. The sex icon even gives us a little taste of "Papa Don't Preach" before she dives into the very serious issue of abortion rights, reminding us that it's "our bodies, our choice!" Amen sister.
  6. Madonna presents a "share a beer" moment with someone very lucky in the audience, and for the LA show's, she's been sharing a chat and sip with a celeb. Over the 10 nights we saw her chatting it up with Kim Kardashian, Katy Perry, Diplo, and Lil Nas X!

And lastly, this a Madame X show, so you'll be getting 95% Madame X material on the setlist, which we'll dive into now!

The show itself is a whole different animal from her previous tours. Madonna fully morphs into her Madame X persona, which is a "secret agent," and a "mother, a child, a teacher, a nun, a dancer, a singer, a spy" and of course... A SAINT!

The show is broken up between five acts that feature several costume changes, moving props, visual chaos, Portuguese inspired dances, tons of guest from all over the globe on stage, most notably from Cabo Verde, where Madonna shipped out 14 dancers to showcase their gorgeous, native, traditional dance.

Throughout the night Madonna was loose and free, performing her heart out in her new songs, and making old songs like "Vogue" and "Like a Prayer" sound brand new, because like she said "some of us from the past will not be going into the future," and Madonna will NOT be part of that "ok boomer" crew.

That's why her setlist is majorly that NEW new, and the live show will brings the album to fruition as it awakens elements of EDM and reggae within sounds she's brought back home form Portugal, Spain, Brazil, France and Cape Verde.

My favorite part of the night was her performance of "Frozen," which she sang behind a screen that features a giant video visual of her eldest daughter Lourdes Leon performing a gorgeous interpretive dance. I was completely mesmerized.
