Liam Gallagher Begins Why Me? Why Not UK Tour w/ 21 Song Setlist

Liam Gallagher; the former Oasis front man, rock icon and parka aficionado, has blessed us with new music and a new tour, and judging from his kickoff last night (November 11) in Cardiff, he is definitely not disappointing.

The rocker just released his second solo album Why Me? Why Not and is celebrating with a UK tour, hitting stops in Dublin and Birmingham before closing the tour off on November 29 in London. The ever-enigmatic artist is enjoying commercial and critical success with the release of this album and with the tour in way, he is making sure fans get a taste of the artistry behind his solo work in songs like "The River" and "Once." But Gallagher knows what the fans came for, performing hits from his iconic time in Oasis such as "Columbia" and "Wonderwall," rounding up the night with an impressive 21-song setlist. Check out what he played at his kickoff show in Cardiff!

Gallagher kicked his show off with a bang, bringing out former Oasis guitarist Bonehead to join him for the night, performing Oasis hits such as "Rock 'n' Roll Star" and "Columbia," sending every Oasis-loving fan into overdrive. Gallagher recognizes his fan's dedication, performing hits that haven't been played in years, like "Gas Panic" which hasn't been performed live since 2002! Check out a clip of the performance!

Despite the Oasis-heavy setlist, Gallagher made sure to perform his solo hits both off of his most recent album Why Me? Why Not. and 2017's "As You Were." Gallagher impressed his fans with renditions of songs "Halo" and "One of Us" giving them both a taste of his older hits and the evolution of his work into what it is today. He went acoustic for 2017's "Greedy Soul," showing his range as a performer and a musician. Gallagher sent the Cardiff crowd wild as he live debuted his song "Be Still", prompting cheers as the artist gave his audience a special never-before-seen performance. Check out a clip below!

It was a night for both Oasis and Gallagher fans, as the intersections of his work as both a lead singer of a band and an exceptional solo artist were put on display. Unlike some artists who shy away from performing hits from their former bands, Gallagher acknowledges all that Oasis has brought to him as an artist and to fans, while showcasing his growth and the appreciation for the fans that have supported him throughout.
