Black Sabbath Share Their Final Performance Of “N.I.B”

On February 4 this year, Ozzy Osbourne told his fans, “Should we come back and do it again?' (pause) We're not." That’s because Black Sabbath concluded what would become their final show ever at Genting Arena in Birmingham, England. Nearly fifty years ago, it was the place where their career was launched as a blues rock band performing under the name Polka Tulk. The group’s final 16-song set included “N.I.B.,” from their 1970 self-titled debut album. Today, the legendary heavy metal icons shared a video to their last performance of “N.I.B,” ahead of the release to The End, a DVD of their final concert.

While farewell tours never seem to be a last-call kind of thing, the end of the road for Black Sabbath has finally come in bittersweet fashion. The End is a celebration of Sabbath’s concluding hometown concert, marking the close of a colossal chapter in rock history. Sabbath’s emotionally stimulating set was filled with hits such as “Iron Man,” “War Pigs,” and “Paranoid” all hailing from their 1970 sophomore record, Paranoid. Regarding the home video release, Sabbath said, “To bring it all back home after all these years was pretty special. It was so hard to say goodbye to the fans who have been incredibly loyal to us through the years. We never dreamed in the early days that we’d be here 49 years later, doing our last show on our home turf.”

The End will be released on November 17, where fans can discover an assortment of bundle options and special offers in addition to the standard format selections on Pledge Music. Along with the live set from Sabbath's final performance, the DVD package for The End features backstage footage and live sessions at Angelic Studios that were recorded in the days following their final performance. Earlier this week, The Prince of Darkness himself announced that he would embark on a farewell solo world tour in 2018 that's expected to run through 2020. Once again confirming that all good things must come to an end.
