RIP Lou Reed: See 13-Song Set From His Final Show in 2012

The world has been without Lou Reed for seven years now, physically, because his music remains immortal. The Velvet Underground's fearless leader passed away on this day, October 27th, 2013 at age 71. We're celebrating his memory and all the pioneering music he bestowed upon us with a look back at Reed's final performance before his death.

The last show took place at London's Meltdown Festival on August 10, 2012 at the Royal Festival Hall. The 13-song set carried many solo licks, some Velvet Underground hits, and songs off his 2011 album collaboration with Metallica - Lulu, including the set opener "Brandenburg Gate."

The beginning of the set saw the only Velvet Underground songs for most of the performance, "Heroin" and "I'm Waiting for the Man." He went on to perform solo favorites like "Street Hassle," "Sad Song," and "Walk on the Wild Side." The main set ended on Lulu song "Junior Dad" before he came back to perform a one-song encore of Velvet Underground's "White Light/White Heat."
