New Model Army Played 32-Song Livestream Set for 40th Anniversary

English rockers New Model Army celebrated their 40th anniversary with a very special online show all the way from Bradford. The show, which took place over the weekend on October 24th, landed exactly 40 years after the first show they ever played on October 23, 1980.

"On 23rd October 1980 New Model Army played their first gig; it has been a wonderful, long, creative and eventful forty-year journey! We had planned a lot of things to mark our 40th birthday, most of which have necessarily been postponed into next year, but by way of celebration we will be doing a one-off concert on the 24th October this year, which will be performed live and be broadcast online simultaneously around the world - a shared experience for everyone who has ever loved the band."

They made the experience extra special by crafting a hefty, 32-song setlist divided into two sets, spotlighting several songs from their 15-studio album discography. They played everything from their debut album Vengeance to their latest record From Here.

The first set opened up with "Christina Militia" while frontman Justin Sullivan opened up the second set doing a solo acoustic version of "Better Than Them." They also did an acoustic version of "Die Trying" later on. They ended the set on "Green and Grey," their second most performed song to date.
