Elvis Costello & The Imposters Begin Just Trust Tour w/ 22 Songs!

After trekking this past summer on a co-headlining tour with Blondie, Elvis Costello promised fans a lengthier tour with his band The Imposters. Dubbed the "Just Tour" - Costello wanted his fans to "just trust" him when it came to the setlist.

“The tour is entitled, ‘Just Trust’ in answer to the musical questions: ‘Will they play my favorite song?,’ or, ‘Are they going to frighten the horses with a lot of excellent songs that are rarely performed?,’ not to mention, ‘Can I expect the hits of yesteryear and those of tomorrow?’ To which we say: Just Trust Elvis Costello and The Imposters.”

As Setlist nerds... We love that. They kicked off their month-long tour last night, October 23rd, in Charlottesville, Virginia at Sprint Pavillion. The 22 song setlist included an array of hits that indeed touched on the old, the new, and yes, probably one of your favorites!

The night fired off with two back-to-back Elvis Costello & The Attractions songs - "Strict Time" and "Clubland," and throughout the night they fit in about seven more Attractions songs.

The only official Imposters song they did was "Unwanted Number," the rest of the setlist was purely Costello licks with newer songs like "A Face in the Crowd," and older favorites like "Alison."

In way of stage production, fans will get treated to a backdrop screen that displays images from 1979's "Accidents Will Happen" music video! And yes, he performs that song as well.

The band ended with a one-song encore of "Everyday I Write the Book." Check out the entire setlist from opening night right here:
