Avril Lavigne Wraps Up Head Above Water Tour - See Highlights!

Avril Lavigne kicked off the Head Above Water Tour on September 14 in Seattle, Washington, marking her return to the stage since her last tour wrapped in 2015. The "Complicated" hit-maker has since visited a total 15 cities in under a month, wrapping up the Head Above Water Tour in Bensalem, Pennsylvania on October 11. With only 15 dates on her latest trek, the setlist was under a lot of pressure with six studio albums to pull from, balancing her latest studio album Head Above Water material with the hits and fan-favorites!

Using our setlist.fm data, we're going to take a look at the tour and relive the highlights and special moments that Lavigne brought to fans on this go around. Let's dive in, yeah?

The first show included a 15-track setlist that opened with the album title track "Head Above Water" and wrapped with a two-song encore that included "I Fell in Love With the Devil" and the timeless hit "I'm With You." The opening night also brought along the live debut of "It Was In Me."Check out the full setlist from the tour kickoff show below!

There were no covers played during the first show but that didn't keep Lavigne from switching up the setlist as the tour moved along, taking on the Weezer song "Beverly Hills" for two shows in California and delivering a cover of the smash single she penned for Kelly Clarkson, "Breakaway."

Watch Lavigne perform "Breakaway" for the first time ever on the Head Above Water Tour, it was kind of a big deal...

The following songs were played less than 10 times during this tour, some of them are fan favorites and if you were in attendance for them, you're a lucky one!

  • "Tell Me It's Over" - played 7 times
  • "Don't Tell Me" - played 5 times
  • "Warrior" - played 5 times
  • "Hello Kitty" - played 4 times
  • "What the Hell" - played 4 times
  • "It Was in Me" - played 3 times

A highlight performance from the Head Above Water Tour has to beb the iconic hit "Girlfriend," just watch as the crowd goes wild and sings along. the only element missing is Lil' Mama... maybe one day?

By the time the final show came along, the setlist was shortened and only featured 14 songs to close out the Head Above Water Tour. You can view the full setlist from the final show below and as far as seeing Lavigne live in the near future? Let's hope she doesn't wait another 4-5 years before she hits the stage again!
