Madonna's Madame X Tour kicked off on September 17, 2019 at the BAM Howard Gilamn Opera House in Brooklyn, New York where it will remain through October 12 before making its way to Chicago, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Boston, Philadelphia and Miami.
We were at the Madame X Tour kickoff show – which you can read all about HERE, and with it being the first show, we were able to navigate the dos and don't's from this tour. With the no-phone policy in place, this little guide is going to help you learn what to expect from this show and how you should come prepared!
DO: Download the Ticketmaster App On Your Phone
Download the Ticketmaster app for your cell phone – this will help the YONDR representative confirm your ticket and hand you a card with your seat number written on it, this is particularly useful as you won't be able to access your phone once inside the venue unless you're at one of the designated cell spaces so the card with your seat number is now your ticket!
Not familiar with YONDR? It's actually a much smoother process than one would imagine! Here's a clip so you can get familiar with exactly how YONDR works below:
DO: Put Your Phone On Silent Before Locking Inside YONDR Case
Make sure you have your phone on silent or vibrate before placing in the YONDR pouch cause once it's locked in there, you'll be holding onto it with no way to access it unless you're in one of the designated spaces. This means if you're watching the show and someone calls you, your phone will ring out loud and you'll have to run out and miss part of the show just to turn it off. Not to mention the crowd around you will be livid if you ruin their intimate experience!
DO: Stand Up During Performance
One of the questions I had before the show began was whether or not the audience would stand or sit for the entirety of the show, after all, the theater experience could call for a different engagement from the audience. Fortunately, this is a stand and dance experience!
DON'T: Ask Others To Sit Down
Throughout the performance, I could hear some fans yelling to others to "sit down" and that's not cool! There is one moment during the show where Madge asks the audience to sit and in that case, go for it, but don't ruin the live experience for others around you because you want to sit and can't see because the person in front of you is standing!
DON'T: Sneak In Extra Recording Devices
This show is meant to be experienced in the flesh and in the moment, Madonna has explicitly teamed up with YONDR for this very reason! Don't disrespect our Queen by sneaking in another recording device of sort and uploading low quality clips that in no way, shape or form serve the show any justice.
