The Hella Mega tour is hella mega - it features Green Day, Fall Out Boy and Weezer as the the ultimate co-headlining trio, with support from special guests The Interrupters. The stadium tour will kick off on June 13th, 2020 in Paris and will hit North America after, kicking off July 17th in Seattle. The whole tour will wrap up on August 29th, 2020 in Philadelphia.
The tour was Green Day's idea, Billie Joe Armstrong said: .”We talked about how we weren’t really wanting to do stadiums and do something that was like throwback to the Monsters of Rock Tour," which references a series of metal tours in the 190s and early 1990s featuring Van Halen, Metallica, Faith No More, Dio and Aerosmith.
In promotion of the tour, all three bands have released new songs. Listen below:
This song will be on Green Days forthcoming album of the same name and due out in February 2020.
Weezer's new song will be featured on their forthcoming album Van Weezer, which will arrive next May “It’s like The Blue Album but with more riffs,” Rivers Cuomo told Zane Lowe. “Metal, hard rock riffs. But it’s still pretty catchy pop rock.”
This song will be on their upcoming compilation album Greatest Hits: Believers Never Die. “We’ve always been big fans of Fugees and Wyclef,” Pete Wentz told Lowe. “He’s got an incredible sense of melody that’s kind of out there. It’s like you can tell it’s a mix from all over kind of the globe, which is cool and super inspired by seeing my kids that they just listen to song to song to song to song and it’s going from Queen to [Lil Uzi Vert].”
To celebrate the tour, all three bands will be playing a not-so-secret show tonight in Los Angeles' Whiskey-A-Go-Go!
