Guitar rock legend Eric Clapton took to the stage on Wednesday September 11th at the brand new Chase Center in San Francisco. The icon performed a touching 14-song set that was divided between acoustic and electric renditions of both beloved originals and covers alike, accompanied by a band of heavyweight musicians including Jimmie Vaughan (Stevie Ray’s older brother).
Clapton opened the set with "Pretending" before going into three covers that included Willie Dixon's "I'm Your Hootchie Coochie Man" and The Wailers' "I Shot the Sheriff," which included an epic Clapton solo, solidifying his continuous reign in the rock world.
His acoustic included four songs, divided between covers and originals, including "Tears in Heaven."
Next came the electric set where Clapton performed "Badge" by his former band Cream, and also covered two classic blues Robert Johnson numbers, "Cross Road Blues" and "Little Queen of Spades."
The main set ended with "Layla" before he came back out to encore Joe Cocker's "High Time We Went" with another fellow legend - Carlos Santana!
