Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds and the Smashing Pumpkins are heading out for a co-headlining tour, which kicked off last night in Camden, New Jersey. Both the Smashing Pumpkins and Gallagher, during his time in Oasis, were iconic artists of the 90s, and both continue to make great music today! Seeing them live on the same bill is sure to be a surreal and nostalgic experience for any alternative rock fan.
On the opening night, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds played an 11 song set that kicked off with “Fort Knox,” a track from the band’s 2017 album Who Built The Moon. In fact, much of the songs on the setlist were from this album, including “Holy Mountain,” “Keep On Reaching,” and “She Taught Me How To Fly.” It makes sense, because with it’s sunny, atmospheric, and psychedelic sound, Who Built The Moon is a great album to hear live.
The High Flying Birds also debuted their new single "This Is The Place," which dropped earlier this week. Of course, Gallagher threw in a couple Oasis classics as well—“Wonderwall” and “Don’t Look Back In Anger.”

The Smashing Pumpkins played a longer, 17 song set that did not include any Billy Corgan solo material. They kicked it off with the classic Siamese Dream track “Today,” and continued to play songs from across their long discography, including “Solara,” “Bullet With Butterfly Wings,” “Disarm” and “Tonight, Tonight.” The Pumpkins also live debuted a cover of James Taylor’s “Fire and Rain.”
The band closed their set with “Cherub Rock” and “The Airplane Flies High (Turns Left, Looks Right).”
