In the midst of touring North America and Europe with Phoebe Bridgers for their new project Better Home Oblivion Community Center earlier this year, Conor Oberst announced a headlining solo tour for the summer which kicked off last night (July 17) in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
Considering the extensive touring Better Home Oblivion Community Center did earlier this year, it's no wonder Oberst's solo headlining shows are limited to eleven total shows, trekking exclusively across the east coast and the midwest with Joanna Sternberg supporting on every night of the tour. The mini outing wraps up on July 28 in Minneapolis, Minnesota at Weesner Family Amphitheater.
Oberst performed several Bright Eyes songs in his 15-track set, using our setlist.fm data, let's take a complete look at the setlist from the kickoff show!
The show opened up with a performance of "I Won't Ever Be Happy Again," it marked the first of seven Bright Eyes songs Oberst would perform throughout the show.
Oberst's ability to connect with audiences through his melancholy sounds is masterful, throw in a castle for a stage and it's just downright royal, check out fan uploaded footage from the Prescott Parks Art Festival for songs "Bowl of Oranges" and "Motion Sickness":
