Alice Cooper and Halestorm Kickoff 2019 Summer Tour in Allentown!

It was an exciting night in Allentown, Pennsylvania as co-headliners Alice Cooper and Halestorm kicked off their much anticipated 2019 U.S. summer tour. However, this doesn’t mark the first time these artists have performed together. In fact, the two rock acts are quite familiar with one another. In 2015, Halestorm lead singer and guitarist Lzzy Hale joined Alice Cooper on stage during the Hollywood Vampires’ set at the Rock In Rio music festival.

Both Cooper and Halestorm have already had a busy 2019 thus far. Throughout May, Cooper toured around the west coast alongside Johnny Depp and Joe Perry as the lead singer of the famous rock and roll cover band, the Hollywood Vampires. He also wrapped on a handful of solo tour dates along the east coast and midwest just last week. Similarly, Halestorm, who’s known for their non-stop touring cycles, spent the majority of April and May on the road with Palaye Royale and Beasto Blanco. However, both acts were ready to get back out on the road and couldn’t be more excited to share the stage.

Following the tour announcement in March, Lzzy Hale stated:

"Alice is our A in the ABC's of Rock music, and we are honored to be sharing the stage with such a legend and his incredible band. School's definitely out!"

Cooper had a similar reaction to the tour announcement proclaiming:

"We've played festivals with Halestorm, including Rock In Rio, and now I'm excited about doing this summer tour with Lzzy and the band, can't wait to get to the first show."

Not surprisingly, they didn’t disappoint. The PPL Center was rocked to its core when their tour kicked off last night. Opening for the co-headliners was special guest Motionless in White. With two marble angel statues behind them, the metal rock band opened their ten-song set with “Disguise,” the title track off their most recent album released just last month.

Further touching on their new album, they continued with “Brand New Numb” and ultimately closed with their top ten hit, “Reincarnate." Check out their full setlist here!

Next to take the stage was Halestorm with an eleven-song set. Less than one-hundred miles away from their hometown of Red Lion, the Pennsylvania natives played through their various hits, pulling mainly from their most recent albumVicious, along with their 2012 masterpiece The Strange Case Of…!

Accompanied by an impressive light show, the Grammy Award-winning band was sure to please the crowd, performing a variety of favorites including “I Get Off,” “Uncomfortable” and “Love Bites (So Do I).”

Although, nothing was going to beat their raw performance of the platinum-selling “I Miss the Misery” to end their set. However, as fans suspected, that would not be the final time they saw Halestorm for the night (see below).

Last to grace the stage was the one and only Alice Cooper. Not surprisingly, the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer was nothing short of entertaining. Sporting his famous black eyeliner, Cooper and his band took full advantage of the entire venue to create a true spectacle using giant balloons, an inflatable baby, enough confetti to fill an olympic-sized swimming pool, and a guillotine. Yes, you are reading all of that correctly, but what else did you expect from the rock legend?

Yet, as Cooper constantly reiterates, he was just as focused on the music as he was the legendary antics as he and his band rolled through their long catalogue of hits including “Billion Dollar Babies,” “I’m Eighteen” and “No More Mr. Nice Guy,” but not before digging into some deep cuts that haven’t been played in years! For the first time in over a decade, Cooper and his band performed “Bed of Nails” and “Teenage Frankenstein” to a roaring crowd.

And let’s not forget about the encore! To end his twenty-one-song set, Cooper returned to the stage wearing a sleek white jacket and matching top hat to perform “Under My Wheels” and a nine minute version of “School’s Out,” recreating the 2015 Rock In Rio collaboration by inviting Lzzy Hale out to play with them once again.
