Weird Al Kicks Off Strings Attached Tour with 21 Song Setlist

Weird Al's anticipated Strings Attached tour commenced last night at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater, Florida. As promised, Weird Al Yankovic enlisted a local orchestra for the night's show, and the arrangements faired well with the fans as they amplified his beloved classics and hits.

The night started with a warm-up set for the orchestra, playing three film classics - "The Raiders March," "Mission: Impossible," and "Theme From Superman." Then the main show got started with "Fun Zone" before going into a medley of "I Lost on Jeopardy" / "I Love Rocky Road" / "Like a Surgeon."

He treated fans with a pleasant surprise by live debuting deep cut "Harvey the Wonder Hamster." He prefaced the song by saying:

“We’ve been trying for over 35 years, and tonight will be the first time we’ve played this,” Yankovic said. “I didn’t feel right playing this song until we had a full symphony orchestra behind us. I just thought the song deserved that, and I wanted to give it all the gravitas it needed.”

The 20-second song was well-received.

Toward the end of the set, Al busted out all the hits like "Smells Like Nirvana," "Dare to Be Stupid," "White & Nerdy" and "Amish Paradise" as the main set ender. You can bet he pulled out all the stops when it came to props, costumes, and stage production. Just watch the fan-caught video below!

The encore carried a trilogy of Star Wars songs, which came equipped with a wall of stormtroopers and Star Wars characters. Check out the full setlist below!
