Fleetwood Mac is currently on the road in the UK for the An Evening With Fleetwood Mac Tour, and “an evening with Fleetwood Mac” means a night full of hits! On this tour, the group is bringing out all the classics to deliver a show that is leaving fans feeling blissful and very nostalgic.
From the moment that the opening notes of “The Chain,” which has kicked off every show so far, play, all attention is on the band and their music. The stage design may be minimal, but this only highlights the group’s radiant presence, especially that of front woman Stevie Nicks. Nicks, dressed in her signature flowing ensembles like always, still gives off ethereal vibes as she periodically twirls around the stage mid-song.
The setlist has remained consistent on this tour; at this point, Fleetwood Mac has enough hits to fill an entire setlist, and this is exactly what they do; songs such as "Gold Dust Woman," "Gypsy," and "Landslide" are just a few among the plethora of classics that the band performs. However, they also works in two covers: Crowded House’s “Don’t Dream It’s Over” and Tom Petty’s “Free Fallin,’” which is played in the encore along with “Don’t Stop.”
During “World Turning,” (a Fleetwood Mac setlist staple), Mick Fleetwood provides a rousing drum solo, accompanied by Japanese percussionist Taku Hirano, who is joining the band on tour. Preceding “World Turning” is the band’s most played song ever, “Rhiannon,” (973 times!).
