We had the pleasure of talking to 311 and Dirty Heads while they were in Los Angeles about deep cuts and happy accidents. Watch our Tour Update episode below:

Deep Cuts
Dirty Heads:
"Having fan favorites is great. It definitely keeps the momentum of the show going, you know, okay we're going to play this song and everyone's gonna sing along and it's great but you have to throw in a couple deep cuts that you just really enjoy playing because at the end of the day if you're not enjoying it people are going to feel that. So yeah you gotta toss some in."

Mistakes are fun
Dirty Heads:
"Once you get to a certain point in your career and you play with guys long enough mistakes are almost fun now, right? And even if you make really bad mistakes where I'm fumbling and forget, or if Duddy forgets a line, he always looks at me or if I forget a line I look at him and we always just laugh. Like ah I gotcha, but I know where you're at so I can help- sometimes I don't, just cause I'm trolling him- but those kids are going to remember that. Sometimes I'll stop and be like dude I totally forgot where I was at, but I think it's the overall energy of everyone in the building that makes it a great show."

311:
"I feel like we end so strong, at all of our shows that it feels like a good show every night. I'm under that impression. I'm two feet away from the audience, for thirty years now. We generate a lot of energy, we push out a lot of energy- it recycles among the crowd. If they're having fun, we're having fun. If we're having fun, they're having fun."
