Watch a Rare Neil Young & Crazy Horse 14-Song Set From 1991

Neil Young has unearthed a time capsule from his archives: a 1991 concert with Crazy Horse at the Buffalo Memorial Auditorium from the group's Smell the Horse Tour.

The full concert is available on his Neil Young Archives website.

"This is raw. Untouched sound," Young wrote. The video hasn't been edited in any way, but he noted that there are plans to release a version with improved audio and video.

"We are sharing this with all of you now just as it is – 'in all its Ragged Glory' as [David] Briggs would have said. We want you to see this with us. We won't be going into the archive vault to retrieve the master for a remix because we are staying in place to protect everyone."

Young has been working to release a large collection of unreleased material to subscribers of his Neil Young Archives after a fan named Uncle Eddie expressed concerns that he wouldn't live long enough to hear all of the archived releases.

This show, in particular, took place on February 16th, 1991. The 14-song set opened with "Hey Hey, My My (Into the Black) off Rust Never Sleeps, and included a handful of gems like "Cinnamon Girl," "Mansion on the Hill," "Cortez the Killer" and "Rockin' in the Free World" (doot doot!).

They played a cover of Bob Dylan's "Blowin' in the Wind" and closed out the show with a two-song encore of "Welfare Mothers" and "Like a Hurricane."

The Smell the Horse Tour birthed the recordings that ended up on the band's 1991 live album Weld. They had hit the road that winter in support of their album Ragged Glory, which had been released a few months prior, and to celebrate Young's return to the band.
