The 1975 Performed 22-Song Set on Matty's Birthday This Day 2016

Happy Birthday to one of the most iconic singers and guitarists. Today, April 8, is Matty Healy of The 1975’s birthday! He is 31 years old.

The 1975 formed back in 2002 in Wilmslow, Cheshire by current members Matty Healy, Ross MacDonald, George Daniel and Adam Hann. Since then the band has released a variety of singles, EPs and albums alongside performing and touring all around the world.

On April 8, 2016, Matty Healy’s 27th birthday, The 1975 performed a show in Berlin, Germany at Columbiahalle. This show was part of their “I Like It When You Sleep, for You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware of It” Tour in support of their most recent album at the time.

The massive 22-song setlist included songs off of a variety of The 1975’s albums including I like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it, their self-titled album The 1975, IV, Music for Cars and Sex.

The set opened with the band singing their song “Love Me” and weaved in some of their biggest hits such as “The Ballad of Me and My Brain,” “So Far (It’s Alright)” and “A Change of Heart.

A special highlight from this show was when the band performed “Heart Out” the crowd sang happy birthday for Matty.

The 1975 ended their set with a 4-song encore of “If I Believe You,” “Chocolate,” “The Sound” and “Sex.”

“Chocolate” is the band's most performed song at 768 times over the course of their career. Their song “Sex” is also in their top five most performed coming in at number two with a play count of 761 times.
