To celebrate the musician’s indelible legacy, let’s take a look back at the setlist My Chemical Romance performed on Way’s birthday in 2008. The show supported The Black Parade tour, which was in promotion of the band’s third album of the same name. The tour amounted to a total of 133 performances worldwide, marking it as one the most comprehensive headlining tours that the band has done to date.

My Chemical Romance performed at the Crystal Ballroom in Portland, Oregon. The 22-song setlist featured 11 songs from The Black Parade. Gems such as “Mama,” “Famous Last Words,” “House of Wolves,” and “Cancer” glittered the setlist. They opened up the main set with “Sleep” before jumping into tracks from other records like Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge and The Black Parade: The B Sides, which features five B-side rarities from the band’s discography.

The band performed a balanced number of classic songs and deep cuts. Among their most performed songs, they dished out “Welcome to the Black Parade,” “I’m Not Okay (I Promise),” which has been performed a whopping 532 times, and “Teenagers.” Some deep cuts include “I Never Told You What I Do For A Living, “Kill All Your Friends” and “My Home Is Through You,” which has been performed only 37 times, the last time being a month after this show.
