Concert of Day: Widespread Panic's 24-Song Set at Red Rocks 2017

American rock band Widespread Panic has joined the masses in sharing live footage from their past iconic concerts. The jam-band teamed up with nugs.tv to showcase webcasts of their past concerts. The Never Miss A Sunday Show series will be broadcasting live footage every Sunday at 5 PM PST / 8 PM EST. The first one aired on March 22, which threw it back to their show on June 30, 2019, in Morrison, Colorado.

While streaming, fans can also consider making donations to one of two organizations building funds for creatives: The Garrie Vereen Emergency Fund and Conscious Alliance. Otherwise, the shows are completely free to stream for fans’ enjoyment.

For the third installment of the series yesterday, Widespread Panic broadcasted their show from June 25, 2017, at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado. We're highlighting this show for today’s edition of Concert of the Day. Check out the recap of the webcast here, which includes a download link and exclusive show photos!

The show supported their 2017 summer tour and settled at the Red Rocks for over three nights, with the 25th being the grand finale. The 24-song setlist featured classic covers and staple hits from their discography. The band hasn’t toured extensively since 2017, so this particular setlist creates a significant mark in their legacy.

They opened up with “A of D” and jumped into a few classics, including “Tall Boy,” “Wondering” and “Goodpeople.” WP dabbled in some deep cuts, too, such as “Shut Up and Drive” and “Galleon,” which was last performed on July 21, 2011, before this show.

Set I Opener

The second set opened up with the classic “Greta,” followed by other hits such as “All Time Low,” “Conrad” and “Saint Ex.” This set included more covers with the first. The band did lively covers of “Can’t Get High” by Bloodkin, “Goin’ Out West” by Tom Waits and Neil Young’s “Last Dance.” They closed out the main set with deep cut “E on a G,” which hadn’t been performed since November 16, 2001. Since then, it has only been performed live 11 times!

Set II Opener

WP came out again after the main set sporting Col. Bruce Hampton tribute Grease shirts. They did three encore performances of “Jack,” Skip James’ “I’m So Glad” and Blind Faith’s “Can’t Find My Way Home."
