Quarantini Hour: Georgia Ku Shares Hobbies + Connects with Fans

Around the world, people are quarantined in their homes to help flatten the curve. Today, singer-songerwriter Georgia Ku joins us, via a safe social-distance email, from her home in Los Angeles for another edition of Setlist.Fm's Quarantini Hour!

The eclectic England-born artist is known to mix pop, R&B and EDM to create her own signature style and sound. Her talent has also led her to write songs for artists like Dua Lipa, Zedd, and Iggy Azalea.

Listen to her second single "Ever Really Know," which was released in February:

How have you / your band been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic?

All studio sessions have been canceled and promo for upcoming releases, on the bright side it has made me realize how fast pace life can be and appreciate this pause.

Paint us a picture of your current headquarters.

I just moved in to a new place so I’ve spent the last 2 months decorating & really making it home, it’s so cute & cozy I love it! I have a lovely big garden so lots of space during this quarantine! I also just set my home studio in my garage so I’m excited to work on some music.

What activities have you been doing to keep yourself busy?

I love cooking so I’ve been learning lots of new vegan recipes! I’m a gym freak so I’ve been doing at-home work outs everyday to keep me sane! Aaaand I also cracked and started a Tik Tok, I have no idea what I’m doing, I should just hire my little sister to teach me!

What movies and TV have you been watching?

Pretty much the whole of Netflix & Hulu... haha I just finished "Tiger King" which is a wild one! I also started watching “Little Fires Everywhere” which reminds me of “Big Little Lies” and I love that show so I think this is gonna be good! One more - I’ve completely binged watched “Better Thing” cause I think it’s hilarious!

What music or podcasts have you been listening to?

Spotify Work-Out playlists & a bunch of chill songs when I’m cooking / cleaning the house. I’m the worst reader so I prefer to listen to podcasts or audible but I haven’t gotten round to that yet.

Are you planning on tuning into or producing any livestream performances?

I’m working on some sort of livestream performance, also doing acoustic videos and whatever I can to keep writing/performing.

Embedded content is no longer available.

How can fans support you in this time of tour postponements and social distancing?

I think just to keep listening, streaming, sharing my music & spreading good energy! I’m making sure to be as active as I can on my social platforms & interact with my fans as much as I can during this free time

What’s your best song for getting through a scary/confusing time?

Any songs I can dance around and sing at the top of my lungs to! if you dwell on things it’s only going to put you in a darker headspace so I want this experience to be as positive as possible. I’m taking it as a time to grow & get perspective!

What are a few of your best songs for an at-home workout playlist?

I’ve seen a lot of people do work-out videos to “So Close”! My songs are pretty upbeat as is but I think the Benny Benassi Remix for “What Do I Do” and the Afrojack remix for my latest single “Ever Really Know." I also just had a new song come out with Part Favor called “Once More."

Where can fans get the latest info and updates from you?

Either my Instagram or Tik Tok both (@georgiaku) I’ll be posting my daily work outs, any music / interviews that are coming out & just being me! :)
