James Blake Performs 12-Song Set Full of Covers on Instagram Live

James Blake is just one of the latest artists to jump on the Livestream game while we're all confined in our homes during the COVID-19 pandemic. While we can't experience the magic of live music - artists around the world are giving fans an intimate experience in a whole new way to help fill that void by staying connected.

Blake set up shop at his at-home piano, in London, to give his viewers a special, bare bones, digital show. He started with three original songs, opening the stream with 2016's "The Colour in Anything" followed by another track off that album - "Love Me in Whatever Way." Then he did new song "I'll Come Too" off of his newest album release, Assume Form. All done in stripped back renditions, of course.

His first two covers were "when the party's over" by Billie Eilish and "The Limit to Your Love" by Feist. The 12-song set only had two more originals worked in - "Life Round Here" and "Retrograde."

Seven of the songs were covers. Blake did piano renditions of "Godspeed" by Frank Ocean," "Hope She'll Be Happier" by Bill Withers, and "No Surprises" by one of his favorites, Radiohead.

He also did "Vincent" by Don McLean and "A Case of You" by Joni Mitchell. Check out the special setlist below:

At its peak, about 26,000 people had tuned into the livestream!

Normally, Blake enjoys doing covers during his live performances. He's performed the Feist song about 246 times, the Joni Mitchell track around 127 times, the Bill Withers song around 22 times, the McLean song around 20 times, and the Frank Ocean cut around 12 times.

This was his second time performing the Eilish cover, he live debuted that back in December. "No Surprises" by Radiohead was the sole live debut during the stream.
