All Time Low: Weekend Live Stream Recap

In the strange circumstance of the COVID-19 pandemic, artists are finding ways to still connect with fans while adhering to social distancing. One band that has taken very well to making that distance bearable is Baltimore based band All Time Low. Over the past few weeks, the members of the band have been live streaming with fans and premiering new songs leading up to their anticipated upcoming release Wake Up Sunshine, due out this Friday, April 3rd. For a band that has built their career on having a close relationship with their fans, All Time Low continue to lead the pack in maintaining that crucial closeness that makes their musician-fan bond so special.

All Time Low setlist

This past Friday, the band kicked off their festivities with singer Alex Gaskarth making an appearance on a charity live stream for Billboard Magazine. Songs included were “Some Kind of Disaster” and “Sleeping In” off of the upcoming album Wake Up Sunshine.

On Saturday Gaskarth was also featured on Twitch’s Stream Aid charity stream, sharing the virtual bill with Diplo, Matt Schultz of Cage The Elephant, Halestorm and Ryan Tedder (to name a few). To shake things up for the release of the newest single “Trouble Is,” lead guitarist Jack Barakat took the reigns for the band’s Instagram live stream. For those that aren’t well versed on the band, Barakat, while talented in his own right musically, is known even more for his humor and hilarious ad-libs. He gave a day-in-the-life run through as to how he’s handling quarantine in his SoCal residence. He brought in Gaskarth for a time and shortly thereafter drummer Rian Dawson as a feature to co-host. Dawson has often preferred to discuss the more technical aspects of music and brought up the interesting fact that the newest single is in multiple time signatures, 13/4 and 6/8. “Trouble Is” is the 5th release from the album and served as a treat due to the band not being able to facilitate their normal album release festivities.
