Woodstock co-founder and original organizer Michael Lang will be staging the new multi-day event in Watkins Glen, New York - Not to be confused with the other Woodstock anniversary festival called the Bethel Woods Music and Culture Festival, which is slated to take place on the same dates and will be on the concert's original grounds in Bethel, New York.

While the full line-up for Woodstock 50 has not be unveiled as of now, there are some rumors floating around of who's set to perform. Some of those rumored artist include the likes of Jay-Z, Halsey, The Black Keys and Miley Cyrus.

The festival is will take place over the course of three days on August 16-18. Despite news that the festival might be in financial trouble, it's been revealed that the artists on the fest's line up have been paid in full.

Lang share with Billboard: “We have excellent partners and an incredible talent lineup of over 80 artists which will be announced within the next couple of weeks. We’re preparing a once in a lifetime event.”

Lang promises the line-up will span across the hip-hop, rock and pop genres, as well staging a “celebrations of artists from the original Woodstock,” by current artists.

Woodstock 1969's three-day historic event hosted some of rock's greatest artists of all time, including Janis Joplin, Jimmy Hendrix, Santana, Grateful Dead, Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Who, Jefferson Airplane, The Band, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, and more.

Woodstock fest returned in 1999 to supposedly celebrate the 30th anniversary, with a more hard-rock and nu-metal line up consisting of Red Hot Chili Peppers, Korn, Green Day, Insane Clown Posse, The Offspring, Everclear, Alanis Morrissette, among others. The festival has notoriously been known as a complete logisitics disaster and it literally went up in flames in riots and chaos.

The 50th anniversary edition of the festival promises the complete opposite, with updated infrastructure and better planning - there are high hopes for the 2019 celebration of Woodstock!

Stay tuned for the official line-up reveal in the coming weeks.
