Nick Mason’s Saucerful of Secrets Revisit Early Pink Floyd Hits

In 2018, Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason decided to form a new group called Nick Mason’s Saucerful of Secrets. Comprised of longtime Floyd touring bassist Guy Pratt, Spandau Ballet guitarist Gary Kemp, guitarist Lee Harris and keyboardist Dom Beken, the band toured Europe performing material from Pink Floyd’s early catalog. Now the guys have been taking on North America, their first trek ever in the region, and kicked things off earlier this month.

According to Mason, he wasn't ready to be done with music and this new supergroup is the perfect opportunity to get those creative juices flowing again.

“With the help of some like-minded friends, I have embarked on a voyage of discovery of the music that was the launchpad of Pink Floyd and my working life,” Mason said in a statement. “It seems too early to retire, and I missed the interaction with other musicians.”

So what's happened on the trek thus far? We have you covered!

The Setlist:

While we don't have an official setlist to share, we know the show is filled with nostalgic hits. The set includes 21 songs that average an hour and 45 minutes. Highlights include a medley of “If,” the instrumental “Atom Heart Mother,” the thunderous “Interstellar Overdrive” and the psychedelic “Green is the Colour,” and “Remember a Day.” If you caught the rockers live, add their official setlist to Setlist.fm.

The Stage:

Like many rockers, they keep the stage relatively simple. During the song “Arnold Layne,” vintage footage of a very young Mason in various states of bearded scruffiness was seen as well as a slew of trippy slideshows. They also utilize color light shows to amplify the experience.

Special Moments:

The group played six of seven studio albums that Pink Floyd released prior to the career-altering Dark Side of the Moon. They performed rarities such as “When You’re In” (from 1972’s Obscured by Clouds) and “Remember a Day” (from 1968’s A Saucerful of Secrets). The band also did a rendition of the ambiguous “Vegetable Man,” a track that Pink Floyd never officially released or even played live.
