It's been for years since Tame Impala have released new work since 2015's Currents, but they are back with their new single "Patience." The Kevin Parker-led music project gives listeners a taste of what is hopefully to be expected from their forthcoming album, which is as-of-yet untitled and release date still TBA.
The track instantly kicks off with a piano medley before it crescendos into a relaxed 80s daytime poolside track fully equipped with pop-synth lines that transports you to a state of euphoria. Its infectious melody oozes with starry-eyed psychedelics that sends you in a stimulated trance. Perhaps it did for Parker when he coyly asks in the beginning lyrics, "Has it been that long? Did I count the days wrong?"

2019 is set to be a big year for Tame Impala, so far. They are scheduled to headline the second night of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. They’ll also play Lollapalooza in August. In celebration of their new single, Tame Impala are also set to make their Saturday Night Live debut on March 30th.
