Tool just wrapped a short North American leg as part of their Fear Inoculum Tour last night in New Orleans at Smoothie King Center.
The setlist carried 14-songs, including 1996's "Merkaba," which they weaved a shortened version of into the set on January 22nd. They also played "Intolerance" for the first time on this particular tour leg.
The rest of the setlist saw a similar pattern to the rest of the tour, opening up with "Fear Inoculum" like they have each night, and concluding the main set with "Forty Six & 2" before coming out to encore "Chocolate Chip Trip," "Invincible," and "Stinkfist."
That hard hitting rockers of Tool walked off the stage in dignity to a tape recording of "Down Under" followed by an anthem only for legends - "Dancing Queen" by Abba.

The tour saw the band paying respects to different notable deaths that have plagued the month of January. They kicked off the tour on January 10th in San Diego, California with a tribute to Rush's Neil Peart. Then on January 22nd in Denver, Maynard Keenan dedicated "Invincible" to the late Terry Jones of Monty Python.
Tool threw in some deep cuts on this tour to keep fans on their toes, playing favorites like "Eon Blue Apocalypse," "Swamp Song," "Part of Me," "The Pot," and "The Patient."
Even more exciting additions to the tour included special guests. Austin, Texas got treated to a performance of "Chocolate Chip Trip" that featured Pat Mastelotto of King Crimson on January 21st, and Nashville saw Judas Priest guitarist Richie Faulkner shred on "Jambi" with Tool on January 29th.
Tool still have big plans for the year, in just a couple of weeks they head to Australia for a string of dates, then will visit a few more cities they didn't get around to in the US. In the summertime, you can catch them do a headlining set at Bonnaroo Festival. Check out the dates below!
