Last night, our favorite rockers Guns N' Roses played their first show of 2020 with an epic headlining set in Miami, Florida for the Super Bowl Music Fest, at the American Airlines Arena.
Their 24-song set was followed by Snoop Dog, and it was career-sprawling much like the rest of their sets on their Not in This Lifetime Tour.
They opened up with "It's So Easy," per usual, and weaved in other staples like "Mr. Brownstone," "Shadow of Your Love," "Sweet Child O'Mine," and the like. They also threw in a number they haven't done since 2014! "You're Crazy" was added in nine songs in.
The most touching part of the night came toward the end of the set when the band dedicated their rendition of "Knockin' on Heaven's Door" to Kobe Bryant, who passed only mere days ago. Axl Rose preceded the song with some words:
“The other night coming home from rehearsal I was like, ‘Is it just me or is that really weird?’” he said. “It was this fog bank, like a thunder cloud over the trees. It was really white with a slight pink and this light coming off the ground. It was really weird. It looks formidable. By morning, apparently, it was much worse. That’s what [Kobe Bryant’s] helicopter flew through. It was pretty scary. I want to dedicate this to Kobe and his daughter and everyone on the flight and everyone in the families and everyone impacted by this terrible event.”
