Bob Weir & Wolf Bros Begin 2020 Sweetwater Residency w/ 18 Songs!

Grateful Dead and Dead & Company guitarist Bob Weir is leading his band, Wold Bros, into 2020 with a five-night residency in Mill Valley, California at Sweetwater Music Hall.

The residency kicked off last night, February 10th, with a two-part, 18-song set thick with Grateful Dead Songs, but also weaved in plenty of Weir solo licks and other cover hits.

The trio, which features Don Was on bass and Jay Lane on drums, opened the first set with "Cassidy" and "Gonesville" before going into the first two Bob Dylan covers of the night - "When I Paint My Masterpiece" and "Maggie's Farm."

Weir and his band performed one more Dylan track during the first set - "All Along the Watchtower," but brought out a couple of more Bobby goodies toward the end of the night, with a jam of "A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall" and then "It's All Over Now, Baby Blue" during the encore.

Watch the first half of the set right here:

Throughout the night, the jazzy trio did stripped back versions of Grateful Dead staples like "Friend of the Devil," "Ramble on Rose," "I Need a Miracle," and "Sugar Magnolia," just to name a few.

Weir also made sure to bust out Ratdog, blessing Deadheads with an extended rendition of "Ashes and Glass." A Jerry Garcia number made it in there too with their version of "Deal."
