Spoiling You with Bombay Bicycle Club's 2020 World Tour Setlists!

Finally. After an utterly long hiatus filled with jazz side projects, alternative pop experimentation and philosophy studies at Cambridge, Bombay Bicycle Club have returned to the top of the music scene.

Originally formed in North London back in 2005, the indie rock band has released three EPs and five subsequent full-studio albums with the most recent being released just a few weeks ago.

Entitled Everything Else Has Gone Wrong, the latest record lends itself well to the band’s experimental basis, distinguishing itself from the rest of their content just like every album before it.

Considering it is their first album release in nearly six years, Bombay Bicycle Club are taking advantage of the comeback, touring across the UK, Europe and the U.S. through early May.

Deemed the Everything Else Has Gone Wrong Tour 2020, the run kicked off on January 20 and will see only a few short breaks until its scheduled end date in the spring.

Now, I’m sure you’re thinking that with all this talk, surely the trek must be special. Good news— it is. For all you fans looking to get even a tiny glance at Bombay Bicycle Club’s Everything Else Has Gone Wrong Tour, keep reading because we have compiled a list of tour spoilers you won’t want to miss. Check them out!

Have they changed the setlist from night-to-night?
So far, Bombay Bicycle Club have kept the set relatively consistent throughout the run. Other than a couple of one-off tracks like “Lamplight,” “Do You Feel Loved?,” “Dust on the Ground” and “It’s Alright Now,” the nineteen-song setlist has remained virtually untouched.

Which songs have they played off of the new album?
Considering the band released Everything Else Has Gone Wrong just a couple of days before the tour kickoff, it’s no surprise that they have been playing more tracks off of the recent album than any other record. Some of the aforementioned songs include “Eat, Sleep, Wake (Nothing but You),” “Is It Real,” “I Can Hardly Speak,” “I Worry Bout You” and “Good Day.”

What should we expect to hear from the rest of their repertoire?
Other than the hits off of the new album, expect to hear an almost equal number of songs off of So Long, See You Tomorrow (2014), A Different Kind of Fix (2011) and I Had the Blues But I Shook Them Loose (2009). Unfortunately, process of elimination would suggest that they haven’t performed a single track off of their 2010 release Flaws.

Any deep cuts?
It’s hard to label any of Bombay Bicycle Club's songs as a real deep cut considering the bandmates are only in their late twenties. However, even with that in mind, there has been a song that the band has performed since the tour’s kickoff that could be considered rare. Having not been played since 2012, “You Already Know” is a bit of an outlier as compared to the rest of the setlist. Unfortunately, it hasn’t remained consistent either, only having been performed a couple of times since the start of the new year.

What about the classics?
It wouldn’t be a Bombay Bicycle Club show without some of their greatest hits woven in between the more recent content. Expect to hear tried and true classics like “Evening/Morning,” “How Can You Swallow So Much Sleep,” “Shuffle” and “Lights Out, Words Gone.”

What’s the production like?
Expect a relatively simple production from Bombay Bicycle Club. Other than an intricate strobe lighting setup and geometric lit background, the band lets the music stand at the forefront of the entire show. And it doesn’t disappoint.

Where have they played so far and what are the venues like?
At this point in time, the guys have hit multiple cities across England and are set to expand on the UK before eventually making their way to Europe and the U.S. towards the middle of their run. The venues they are playing at are more intimate music halls, theaters and amphitheaters, so expect a tight-knit community in every city.

Is there an encore?
Yes! There has been a two-song encore in every city featuring the title track off of the new album “Everything Else Has Gone Wrong” and the 2009 hit “Always Like This.”
