Mandy Moore made her highly anticipated return to the stage over the weekend in Los Angeles, California during the first show of her LA residency at the Bootleg Theater. The Silver Landings Weekly Residency is named after her upcoming album due out March 6 via Verve Forecast Records, marking her first studio album in eleven years since 2009's Amanda Leigh.
The superstar made famous in the teen-pop explosion of the early '00's thanks to her iconic hit "Candy" has since distanced herself from the sugary sounds of the genre and has carved out her own path in the entertainment industry. From voicing a Disney Princess to releasing her music on her terms in the late '00's to the mega-success of the NBC drama This Is Us, Moore has kept a steady presence in the limelight since her teen-pop days.
When Mandy Moore announced a tour to support her new album Silver Landings, noticeably absent from the schedule were any LA dates. Thankfully, Moore revealed an LA residency soon after which sees the singer take the stage every Saturday night for four dates between January 18 through February 8.
So what happened during the first date of her residency in the City of Angels? Let's dive into our setlist.fm data and find out!
Moore kicked off the 10-song setlist with the lead single from the Silver Landings era, "When I Wasn't Watching." Check out a performance of the show opener:
Moore went on to perform more new music and was joined onstage by the And Friends as listed on the residency poster, Taylor Goldsmith, Sara Watkins, Sean Watkins, Madison Cunningham, Mike Viola and Inara George all joined the pop star throughout her set.
The set closed with the breakout 1999 single "Candy," luckily a fan caught the performance in its entirety and I'm living for it! Here it is for your viewing pleasure:
