Elton John Resumes Australian Tour, Donates to Bushfire Relief

Sir Elton John is joining a list of celebrities donating to help Australian fire services in the midst of the deadly bushfires raging across the country.

During his January 7th show at Qudos Bank in Sydney, the 71-year-old British icon announced that he will be making a $1 million dollar donation to the victims of the bushfires in Australia.

"We should all be in the awe of the work the firefighters are doing," he said. "There are people out there who have lost their lives trying to save homes; there are people who have lost their lives and their homes."

He continued:

"And lastly, there's the plight of the animals, a loss of their habitat that frankly is on a biblical scale, and it's heartbreaking. Therefore tonight, I will be pledging $1 million dollars to support the bushfire relief fund."
