Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper Perform "Shallow" During Vegas Concert

Every once in a while, life imitates art and we the fans get to experience a beautiful performance we never expected. During a show at her Las Vegas residency, Lady Gaga brought her A Star Is Born co-star Bradley Cooper onto the stage for a surprise rendition of “Shallow.” In the middle of her Enigma residency show at the Park MGM on Saturday, January 26, the pop icon addressed the crowd,

“So a really good friend of mine… I don’t know if you know him but his name is Bradley. He made that movie A Star Is Born.”

Cooper made his way towards Lady Gaga; the duo hugged and Gaga handed him a pair of in- ear monitors so he could hear himself while singing. "Jackson never used these," Cooper quipped to the crowd. Reminiscent of their performance in the now Golden-Globe winning and Oscar nominated film, the two showcased their fondness for another as well as some serious vocal chops.

Check out their performance below:

The movie has received nominations for Best Picture, Best Supporting Actor (Sam Elliott), Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Cinematography and Best Sound Mixing. Lady Gaga has also gained an Oscar nod for Best Actress, and though Cooper is nominated for Best Actor, he unfortunately did not snag a nomination for Best Director. Regardless of the not receiving the nomination, the pop sensation couldn't be more proud of her co-star and onscreen partner:

“At the end of the day, he knows that he’s the best director in my eyes, and in all of our eyes as his cast,” Gaga told the Los Angeles Times earlier this month. “I know that he’s so happy that we’ve all been nominated and that the film was recognized and we all feel really, really beyond elated for the recognition.”

This is the first time the two have performed the song live together since production of A Star Is Born, but may be invited to do so at February’s Academy Awards. Variety reported on Thursday that only two songs will likely be part of the telecast: Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s “All the Stars” from Black Panther and “Shallow.” For Gaga fans, we can only hope to get another live rendition of this beautiful song!
