Problems with artists

Posted 23 Jan 2011, 13:27:38

Hi,

I've added a number of setlists by the Belgian band Kingdom, which I also added to the musicbrains artist database. However, for my last two setlist additions for this band ( http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/kingdom/2010/hoogpoort-22-ghent-belgium-6bd2f642.html and http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/kingdom/2011/the-frontline-ghent-belgium-2bd2d41e.html ), I've noticed setlist.fm links the added setlists to a different artist with the same name (of which the only listed concert/info is found here http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/kingdom/2009/escape-vienna-austria-1bd6e58c.html ).

The first two setlists I added were linked correctly to the right artist. ( http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/kingdom/2010/de-kreun-kortrijk-belgium-2bd55456.html and http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/kingdom/2010/concertzaal-vooruit-ghent-belgium-33d5544d.html )

Moreover, there are 3 bands called Kingdom that do not have any actual setlists (noted in artist search as NY-based, Electro/Gothic trio from Rome / Italy and Kingdom (the one my last two additions link to)). Also, I can't find any reference on the net to this alleged concert in Escape, Vienna, Austria, nor to the band.

Is there any way to make my additions point to the (correct) Belgian group Kingdom ( http://www.setlist.fm/setlists/kingdom-43d2afc3.html )?

Thx in advance!

In case anyone encounters the same problem, the way to add a setlist of the correct artist/band out of multiple artists/bands with the same name is:

1) the artist allready has a setlist on this site: find an existing setlist for the artist using the search function, click 'Add setlist' next to the artist name, add the setlist, it will automatically be linked to the correct artist

2) the artist exists in Musicbrainz database and/or setlist.fm, but has no setlists yet: get the MBID for the correct artist via Musicbrainz search (using 'Details' after searching) and copy it, then just add a new setlist and paste the copied MBID in the artist field, complete the rest of the setlist.

All done :)

http://www.setlist.fm/setlists/u2-2bd7e8a6.html – can any mod delete this “artist” and change the covers that are assigned to this U2?

Not sure if this is the correct thread, but I somehow created the same artist twice and need to delete this one:

Drums Are for Parades ( http://www.setlist.fm/setlists/drums-are-for-parades-6bd57632.html ) and Drums Are For Parades ( http://www.setlist.fm/setlists/drums-are-for-parades-3bd57484.html ) are the same band, could they be merged?

I merged the setlists mentioned in this thread.

Moderators can't delete duplicate artists. Only Administrators can do that.

These shows have been added to Punch (60s pop group)
http://www.setlist.fm/setlists/punch-1bd43998.html

They should be listed under Punch (female fronted hardcore) which should probably default band for that name.

Another reason to get rid of event_monkey
